Helping teachers of young singers realize their potential is my jam. Why? Because I was once a sensitive, shy child who loved to sing. My 5th grade chorus solo was a pivotal moment that helped me find my voice and confidence. I continued to sing, but was told I had to wait until I was 16 before I could take private lessons (we'll get back to this!).

Fast forward...my senior year at Manhattan School of Music I started my first choir in Harlem, when I realized how amazing it was to help others find THEIR voice. Before you know it, I was teaching kids AND music teachers...and I've been hooked ever since. Now I've studied voice for 30 years, and been teaching in NYC for over 20 years privately, through private and public schools, NYU, Carnegie Hall, and The Juilliard School.

Sadly, along the way I've seen too many frustrated and burnt-out teachers who lacked the support they really needed to grow, be inspired and inspire others. The truth is that as voice teachers, we either train as singers or music educators or music teaching artists. Rarely do those paths meet, let alone intertwine. And business training? Oof!

And let's be really honest...just singing can be extremely elusive and confusing, let alone teaching it to others...especially kids and teens. I have spent my life following my heart and questioning traditional ways that never made sense to me...like waiting until 16 to study voice. The same people who said to wait, also said to sing in a choir. I couldn't understand the logic.

Now that I've gone this deep, I understand the gaps and traps that exist in PK-12 voice education, and I made a decision to be the change. This has been a life-long, challenging quest that has often left me as the outsider in a room full of voice teachers because I think and do things differently. Guess what? It was 100% worth it!

I'm here to help you grow from educated to empowered because I believe the world needs more of the beauty and countless benefits of what YOU do: helping humanity, especially children, sing with confidence. In order to make an impact, I believe we need to come together in an open and giving way. If you feel like singing and teaching is a calling and that it’s a privilege to work with children...this path is for you. If the idea of being a guide to help others fully step into their power excites you...you are my people. And I promise I will give you my ALL.

Think of me as your professional development concierge. I'll use my experience as a founder, thought partner to music educators, licensed K-12 music educator, voice teacher, choral director, curriculum and assessment writer, arts administrator, performer, mother, yogi and marathoner to curate and support your ongoing professional development as a singer, educator, and entrepreneur.

Building upon the shoulders of giants, I'll share out my hybrid approach to give you a solid foundation with a clear scope and sequence for teaching voice. Grounded in the Kodály approach, we’ll break down the elements of singing and organize them into simple, sequential tools and techniques.

Rather than isolated workshops, you will become part of The Club - a membership that offers monthly voice and education coaching using The Vielka Method™. As lifelong-learners, we will continue to evolve and learn from each other, paving a new way for next-generation singers.

By giving you the tools and community you need to thrive, you'll have more energy, impact, and income doing what you love. Finding confidence, connection and breakthroughs...that's what this movement is really about.

Can't wait to learn about you and how I can best serve you!

What Teachers Are Saying

Voice teacher
Throughout my early years of teaching private voice, I quickly discovered that finding practical tools for teaching young, beginning singers was a challenging task.

After searching for guidance and clarity on so many aspects of vocal technique, I was fortunate enough to find Vielka and become both a student and teacher of her method. For the first time, I was presented with a clear approach and accessible language that could be easily understood and replicated by my young students. I started making connections and having light-bulb moments for the first time as a student of singing for over a decade.

Since learning The Vielka Method™, my confidence as a teacher has grown tremendously. I now feel equipped to help nurture and develop strong, healthy voices. These tools have given me the opportunity to work with singers of all ages and to approach the foundations of vocal technique more efficiently and comfortably than ever before.

After over two years of teaching The Vielka Method™ to young singers with a wide range of skill-levels, strengths, and vocal challenges, I can’t imagine approaching teaching or singing any other way. I feel empowered as an educator and able to more freely share in the joy of singing with my students!
